Advocacy and Policy Best Practices and Programs for School Age Youth
Hosted by Mental Health America’s Regional Policy Council (RPC)
Tuesday, April 30, 2019
3:00 pm Eastern time/12:00 pm Pacific time

School-age youth increasingly identify as having an emotional disturbance, experiencing self-injury, and having thoughts of suicide. They are also seeking help, and providing support to their peers more often. Mental Health America affiliates are informing policy and implementing programs to improve student resilience and overall school climate through multi-faceted solutions.

This webinar will inform affiliates about some of the ways they may influence policymakers, educational leadership and other community leaders about youth help seeking and about how to implement a school-based framework to better meet the mental health needs of students, teachers, and administrators before a crisis, before stage four (B4Stage4).

Featured speakers include:

  • Sarah Davidon, Research Director at Mental Health Colorado
  • Ben Harrington, CEO of the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee

Thank you for joining us for this special opportunity to learn more about prevention and early intervention of mental health and substance use conditions in schools.
