Researchers at Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, Brigham Young University, and University of Texas Rio Grande Valley are conducting an online study for Spanish-speaking parents. The goal of the survey is to better understand parents’ perceptions of their children and current vaccine concerns. Parents in two groups are invited to take the survey: those who have children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and those who have typically developing children. The study entails a web-based questionnaire about (a) parents’ attitudes toward vaccines, (b) parents’ perceptions about ASD, (c) child’s social-communication skills, and (d) basic demographic questions. The questionnaire will be conducted through REDCap online surveys and can be accessed by visiting:

This research is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Robin P. Kochel (Associate Director for Research at Texas Children’s Hospital), Dr. Rebecca Lundwall (Assistant Professor, Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience), and Dr. Cecilia Montiel-Nava (Associate Professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley). The instructions state that submission of a completed questionnaire constitutes a parent’s consent to participate. At the end of the questionnaire, parents have the option to provide their contact information to enter a drawing for one of 10 Amazon Fire 7 Tablets, valued at approximately $50. Participation in this study is completely voluntary and will provide no direct benefits to participants.
